Caramelized Onion Bacon Dip (Print Version)

Rich blend of caramelized onions, smoky bacon, and creamy texture for tasty party bites.

# What You'll Need:

→ Vegetables

01 - 2 large yellow onions, finely diced

→ Meats

02 - 8 oz bacon, chopped

→ Dairy

03 - 2 cups sour cream

# How to Make It:

01 - Cook the chopped bacon in a large skillet over medium heat until crisp, about 8 to 10 minutes. Remove bacon with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels. Reserve 2 tablespoons of bacon fat in the skillet and discard the remainder.
02 - Add the diced onions to the reserved bacon fat in the skillet. Cook over medium-low heat, stirring occasionally, until onions turn a deep golden brown and caramelize, approximately 20 to 25 minutes. Allow to cool slightly.
03 - In a medium mixing bowl, blend the caramelized onions, crisp bacon, and sour cream thoroughly until fully incorporated.
04 - Refrigerate the mixture for at least 30 minutes to meld the flavors. Serve chilled with chips, crackers, or vegetable sticks.
