04 - 1 teaspoon dried oregano
05 - 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
06 - 1/2 teaspoon salt
07 - 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

→ Tzatziki

08 - 1 cup Greek yogurt
09 - 1/3 cup cucumber, finely grated and squeezed dry
10 - 1 tablespoon fresh dill, chopped
11 - 1 small garlic clove, minced
12 - 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
13 - 1 tablespoon olive oil
14 - Salt and pepper to taste

→ Vegetables and Wraps

15 - 1 cup cucumber, thinly sliced
16 - 1 cup tomato, diced or sliced
17 - 1/4 small red onion, thinly sliced (optional)
18 - 4 soft pita breads

# How to Make It:

01 - In a mixing bowl, combine olive oil, lemon juice, oregano, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Add chicken strips and toss thoroughly to coat. Allow to marinate for at least 10 minutes at room temperature.
02 - While chicken marinates, prepare tzatziki by combining Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, dill, garlic, lemon juice, olive oil, salt, and pepper in a separate bowl. Mix until smooth and refrigerate until needed.
03 - Heat a grill pan or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook marinated chicken strips for 3-4 minutes per side until cooked through and lightly charred. Transfer to a plate.
04 - Warm the pita breads in a dry pan or microwave until soft and pliable, approximately 1-2 minutes.
05 - Spread a generous spoonful of tzatziki on each pita bread. Layer with grilled chicken strips, sliced cucumber, tomato, and red onion if desired.
06 - Fold or roll each pita to enclose the filling securely and serve immediately while warm.

# Additional Tips::

01 -
  • Everything comes together in half an hour, so you can have dinner on the table before anyone gets too hangry.
  • The marinade is so simple but delivers that authentic Greek flavor that makes you feel like you're eating somewhere special.
  • You can prep the tzatziki and marinate the chicken ahead, making assembly almost instant when you're ready to eat.
  • It's endlessly customizable, so picky eaters and adventurous ones can both be happy at the same table.
02 -
  • Squeeze that grated cucumber hard, like you're wringing out a towel, or your tzatziki will turn into a watery mess that soaks through the pita.
  • Don't crowd the chicken in the pan or it will steam instead of getting those beautiful charred edges that add so much flavor.
  • Warm your pitas right before assembling, because cold pitas crack when you try to fold them and the whole wrap falls apart.
03 -
  • Marinate the chicken for up to two hours if you have time, the flavor gets even deeper and more pronounced.
  • Use a rasp grater for the cucumber in the tzatziki, it breaks down finer and blends more smoothly into the yogurt.
  • If your pitas are stale or a bit dry, brush them lightly with olive oil before warming to bring them back to life.
  • For meal prep, marinate the chicken the night before and make the tzatziki in advance so dinner comes together in under 15 minutes.
