Simplified Christmas Trifle Cups (Print Version)

Festive dessert with sponge, mixed berries, custard, and whipped cream in individual servings.

# What You'll Need:

→ Sponge Layer

01 - 10.5 oz store-bought pound cake or sponge cake, cubed

→ Fruit Layer

02 - 8.8 oz mixed berries (fresh or thawed from frozen)
03 - 2 tablespoons orange juice

→ Custard Layer

04 - 13.5 fl oz ready-made vanilla custard

→ Whipped Cream

05 - 8.5 fl oz heavy cream
06 - 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
07 - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

→ Garnish

08 - 2 tablespoons toasted flaked almonds (optional)
09 - 2 tablespoons grated dark chocolate (optional)
10 - A few whole berries or mint leaves

# How to Make It:

01 - Toss mixed berries with orange juice in a bowl and set aside for 5 minutes to macerate.
02 - Whip heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla extract until soft peaks form.
03 - Place a layer of cake cubes at the bottom of each serving glass.
04 - Spoon a layer of berries with their juices over the cake cubes.
05 - Spread a generous layer of vanilla custard on top of the fruit layer.
06 - If cups are tall, repeat layers finishing with a layer of whipped cream on top.
07 - Decorate each cup with toasted flaked almonds, grated dark chocolate, and a few whole berries or mint leaves.
08 - Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving to enhance flavor and texture.
