04 - 2 to 3 tablespoons chili crisp, store-bought or homemade

05 - 1 egg, beaten for egg wash
06 - 1 teaspoon sesame seeds, optional for garnish

# How to Make It:

01 - Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
02 - Unroll thawed puff pastry on a lightly floured surface and cut into 24 equal squares, approximately 2 x 2 inches each.
03 - Place one Brie cube in the center of each pastry square, then drizzle each with ¼ teaspoon honey and ¼ to ½ teaspoon chili crisp.
04 - Fold the corners of each pastry square up and over the filling, pinching edges to seal or leave slightly open for a rustic appearance.
05 - Arrange bites seam-side up on the prepared baking sheet. Brush with beaten egg and sprinkle with sesame seeds if desired.
06 - Bake for 16 to 18 minutes until golden brown and puffed.
07 - Allow bites to cool for 5 minutes before serving. Optionally, drizzle with additional honey.

# Additional Tips::

01 -
  • They come together in under 35 minutes but look like something from a fancy restaurant
  • The combination of hot flaky pastry and cool creamy cheese is honestly addictive
  • You can assemble them ahead of time and bake right before guests arrive
02 -
  • I once forgot the egg wash and they still tasted great, just look less polished, so do not stress if you miss it
  • The chili crisp settles to the bottom, so give the jar a good stir before measuring
03 -
  • Freeze unbaked bites on the baking sheet, then transfer to a bag and bake straight from frozen for last-minute guests
  • Let the pastry thaw in the fridge overnight instead of on the counter for easier handling
