Air Fryer Cinnamon Twists (Print Version)

Flaky cinnamon twists air-fried to golden perfection, finished with a smooth glazed topping.

# What You'll Need:

→ Dough

01 - 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll or pizza dough

→ Filling

02 - 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
03 - 1/4 cup brown sugar
04 - 1 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon

→ Glaze

05 - 1/2 cup powdered sugar
06 - 1 to 2 tbsp milk
07 - 1/4 tsp vanilla extract

# How to Make It:

01 - Set the air fryer to 350°F and allow it to preheat for 3 minutes.
02 - Unroll the dough on a lightly floured surface and press down gently to seal any seams.
03 - Brush the entire dough surface with melted butter evenly.
04 - Combine brown sugar and ground cinnamon, then sprinkle the mixture uniformly over the buttered dough.
05 - Fold the dough lengthwise in half and press gently to seal the edges.
06 - Cut the folded dough into 8 equal strips, twist each several times, and pinch the ends to secure.
07 - Place the twists in the air fryer basket with space between each to prevent sticking; cook in batches if needed.
08 - Cook the twists for 7 to 8 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.
09 - While twists cool slightly, mix powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
10 - Drizzle the glaze over the warm twists and serve immediately.

# Additional Tips::

01 -
  • They come together faster than brewing a pot of coffee, and taste like you spent an hour in the kitchen.
  • The air fryer gives them a crisp outer layer and a soft, buttery center without turning on the oven.
  • You can double the batch and freeze the unbaked twists for mornings when you need something special in under ten minutes.
02 -
  • Don't skip preheating the air fryer or the bottoms will cook faster than the tops, leaving you with uneven twists.
  • If your dough is too warm and sticky, pop it in the fridge for a few minutes before twisting, it makes all the difference in clean cuts and neat spirals.
  • Add the glaze while the twists are warm so it melts slightly into the layers, but not so hot that it turns runny and slides off.
03 -
  • Freeze unbaked twists on a parchment lined tray, then transfer to a freezer bag and air fry straight from frozen, adding two extra minutes to the cook time.
  • Brush the tops with a little extra melted butter halfway through cooking for a deeper golden color and richer flavor.
  • Use a pizza cutter instead of a knife for faster, cleaner cuts that don't drag the filling out of place.
